“I am mainly interested in the forms, surfaces and signage of everyday things in their normal context. I prefer objects which are plain and functional, their forms not obscured by decoration: ‘type objects’, in fact.  And where the subject is a food product, I want it to be a mass-market, consumer item. I want the labels to be familiar, contemporary and iconic. ( … ) The pictures I am trying to construct include objects which might or might not mean anything, arranged in a way that might or might not be significant.“
